Keep Your Data Safe and in Sync with JCloud
JCloud allows you to synchronize your personal platform data across multiple trading accounts. By linking all of your trading accounts to a single JCloud User ID (UID), your preferences and customizations are securely stored in the cloud and automatically kept up to date.
The following data can be synchronized:
- Platform settings (Workspaces)
- Favorite trading instruments
- Chart drawings and favorite indicators
- Chart Templates
- Custom Strategies
- Custom Indicators
- Custom Plugins
This enables you to maintain a consistent trading environment regardless of which linked trading account you use.
How Account Linking Works
Linking trading accounts with JCloud is simple.
- Open Preferences/JCloud and locate the JCloud User ID (UID) assigned to your current trading account.
- Copy the UID.
- Sign in to another trading account that you want to link.
- Paste the same UID into the JCloud settings and apply the changes.
Once the same JCloud User ID is configured on multiple trading accounts, JCloud automatically recognizes the connection and synchronizes the supported data between them.
Keeping Existing Chart Objects
When linking a trading account to a different JCloud User ID, you can decide how existing chart objects should be handled.
Enable the Keep the objects in charts option to preserve the drawings and objects currently displayed on your charts.
If this option is disabled, the existing chart objects will be replaced with those synchronized from the selected JCloud account.
File Versioning
JCloud automatically maintains version history for the files stored. This allows you to restore or access previous versions whenever necessary.
The Versions column in the JCloud Explorer displays the number of saved versions available for each file.
To view and manage file versions:
- Open the JCloud Explorer.
- Enable the Versions panel from the toolbar.
- Select the desired file to display its version history.
For each saved version, you can perform the following actions:
- Open the selected version
- Import the version from an external location
- Export the version to an external location
- Delete the version if it is no longer needed
Version history provides an additional layer of protection against accidental changes by allowing you to return to an earlier state of your work.
Versioning is also used when the same trading account is opened simultaneously in multiple instances of the platform. In this scenario, platform saves the workspace from each running instance as a separate version. This mechanism helps prevent one instance from unintentionally overwriting the workspace changes made in another instance.
Storage Quota
The total storage capacity available in JCloud is 50 MB.
This quota includes all files stored in JCloud, including their saved versions. As version history grows, it contributes to the total amount of used storage.
If the storage limit is reached, JCloud will display an error message indicating that no additional data can be saved.
To free up storage space, consider the following actions:
- Delete unnecessary file versions.
- Remove obsolete files that are no longer required.
- Periodically review your version history and retain only the versions you may need in the future.
Security Warning
Your JCloud User ID (UID) is a unique access key to your synchronized content. Do not share this key with anyone. Anyone who has access to your UID can access and manage the data associated with your JCloud account.
