Migration from JForex3

This section describes what objects can be migrated from JForex3 (previous generation) to JForex4, and how to perform the migration.

Chart objects

All chart objects can be migrated from JForex3, including:

  • drawings
  • retracement tools
  • patterns
  • list of used indicators

How to migrate

  1. In JForex3, open the chart containing the objects you want to migrate.
  2. Save the chart objects as a chart template.
  3. In JForex4, open the Template button in the chart toolbar to access the template menu.
  4. Import the saved template file into JCloud.
  5. Open the imported template from JCloud.

Note: The chart will open in Local mode. To move the objects to JCloud, use the mode switch button. Read more about chart modes in the Charts section of this manual.

Workspace

Workspace migration from JForex3 is not supported.

The workspace structure and data format have been completely revised in JForex4, resulting in a significantly reduced file size. Due to these fundamental changes, JForex3 workspace files are not compatible with JForex4 and cannot be imported.
