Alerts
Overview
The Alerts feature allows you to set up automatic notifications that trigger when a specific market or account condition is met. This helps you monitor the market without having to watch charts or your account continuously.
Alerts in JForex4 can be placed on three different types of conditions:
| Alert Type | Monitored By | Requires Platform Open? |
|---|---|---|
| Price | Notification service (server side) | No |
| Equity | Notification service (server side) | No |
| Indicator | Trading platform (client side) | Yes |
Notification Service
Price and Equity alerts are handled by the Notification service, which runs independently of the trading platform on the server side.
Key features:
- Alerts continue to be monitored even if the platform is closed.
- When an alert is triggered:
- A Push notification is sent to your mobile device (if configured).
- A notification pop-up appears inside the trading platform (if it is open).
Managing alerts via Cabinet
You can also view and manage your Price and Equity alerts from the Client Cabinet:
- In JForex4 main menu, go to Services.
- Select Cabinet — it will open in your default web browser.
- In Cabinet, navigate to Trading settings → Notifications.
From here you can view, edit, or delete existing alerts without needing to open the trading platform.
Additional alert types available only in Cabinet:
Besides Price and Equity alerts, the Notifications section in Cabinet allows you to configure additional notification types not available directly in the platform:
- Trading related alerts — notifications about certain order executions.
- Price movement alerts — notifications about significant price movements.
- Account status — notifications about changes in your account status.
Price Alerts
Price alerts notify you when the market price of an instrument reaches a specified level.
Monitoring: Server side (Notification service) — active even when the platform is closed.
How to create a Price alert
You can open the Price Alert creation dialog in two ways:
-
From the chart:
- Right-click on the desired price level on the chart to open the context menu.
- Select the option to create a price alert at that level.
-
From the Alerts panel:
- Click the Create Alert (or “+”) button in the Alerts panel.

Indicator Alerts
Indicator alerts notify you when a selected indicator meets a specified condition. Since these alerts rely on the platform’s own indicator calculations, they are only available for indicators already added to a chart.
Monitoring: Client side (Trading platform) — the platform must remain open for these alerts to work.
How to create an Indicator alert
You can open the Indicator Alert creation dialog in two ways:
-
From the chart:
- Right-click on the desired indicator (on the chart or in the indicator list) to open its context menu.
- Select the option to create an alert on this indicator.
-
From the Alerts panel:

Monitoring target
The platform can monitor:
- The value of the indicator itself against a fixed number, or
- The value of the indicator against another indicator on the same chart.
Example: SMA(30) crossing SMA(100)
Trigger conditions
You can define how often the alert should fire:
- Only once — the alert triggers a single time, then is deactivated.
- Once per candle — the alert can trigger only once within each candle formation.
- Once per candle close — the alert triggers only after a candle has fully closed and the condition is met.
Important notes
Because indicator alerts depend heavily on the specific chart configuration (instrument, period, and indicator settings), they are managed locally within the platform and within the specific chart where they were created — not via the server-side Notification service.
As a result:
- If the related indicator is removed from the chart, or the chart is closed, the associated alert will be automatically removed.
- If the related indicator is hidden (but not removed), the alert will be kept, but it will stop working until the indicator is made visible again.
- Changing the instrument or period of the chart will also affect the alert’s validity.
Alerts Panel
The Alerts panel is the central location for managing all your alerts within the platform.
From the Alerts panel, you can:
- View all active Price, Equity, and Indicator alerts.
- Create new alerts using the Create Alert button.
- Edit or delete existing alerts.
