During Friday's trading session, the British Pound depreciated 0.52% or 46 pips against the European Common Currency. Note, that the Pound also depreciated against other major currencies.
The reason for the drop is the resignation of the UK Prime Minister, Theresa May, after two years of trying to deliver Brexit deal. Analysts think that May's departure escalates the Brexit crisis, as the new potential Prime Minister is likely to desire a more decisive separation from the EU bloc.
Note, that the UK markets are shut on Monday, May 27, for a holiday.
