14.12.-17.12. Most Busy Fundamental Week of the Year

The week is set to be the most busy and vital for macroeconomic data and central bank announcements that has been observed during the recent years. Namely, four central banks of the USD, EUR, GBP and CHF are making policy announcements. Meanwhile, five consumption data sets and Purchasing Managers Index survey results will be released.

On Tuesday, at 13:30 GMT, the US Producers Price Index and Core Producers Price Index are expected to cause minor moves on all USD assets.

At 07:00 GMT on Wednesday, the UK CPI is set to impact the value of the GBP.

On Wednesday, at 13:30 GMT, the Canadian Consumer Price Index is expected to create a reaction on the CAD pairs. At the same time, the US Retail Sales and Core Retail Sales are set to impact the USD.

Top event of the month is scheduled for 19:00 GMT on Wednesday. At that time, the US Federal Funds Rate, FOMC Statement and Economic Projections are going to be published. The USD is expected to be highly volatile.

Thursday will begin at 07:00, as the UK Retail Sales will be published. GBP pairs are most likely slightly move due to the data.

At 08:30 GMT on Thursday, the Swiss National Bank is set to release its Monetary Policy Assessment.

Simultaneously to the SNB policy announcement, the German Manufacturing and Services Purchasing Managers Index survey results are set to be published. The Euro is bound to react to the results. Later on, at 09:00 GMT, the Euro Zone PMI survey results will be published and another move of the EUR could occur.

At 09:30 GMT, the UK Manufacturing and Services PMIs will be published. Minor GBP moves occur due to the publication.

At 12:00 GMT on Thursday, the Bank of England will publish its Monetary Policy Summary together with the Official Bank Rate and Asset Purchase Facility. Namely, the future of the supply of the GBP is set to be released.

Also on Thursday, at 12:45 GMT the European Central Bank is scheduled to release the central bank's Monetary Policy Statement.

The week's notable events will end with the weekly US Unemployment Claims at 13:30 GMT and the US PMIs at 14:45 GMT. These events have rarely caused notable USD moves.

The moves on the tables are measured in pips by measuring five minutes before and after a data release.
