Downside risks have pressured USD/CAD for the last four trading days, resulting in a swift move from the lower boundary of a senior channel. In addition, this movement has formed a junior channel down. The strong momentum downwards diminished, as the pair started to approach the lower boundary of this minor channel near 1.2960. Even though technical indicators are strongly bearish, their readings are starting to recover, especially considering that the Greenback is currently trading at its lowest level since September 2016. In terms of limits, the pair may be supported by the monthly S3 at 1.2922. On the contrary, the nearest resistance is provided by the 55-hour SMA and the weekly PP circa 1.3030. In case no strong movers affect the market in the upcoming hours, the pair may continue to move sideways.
