The Labour Department reported on Thursday that the number of Americans filing for unemployment benefits rose 1K to 234K in the week ended May 19, whereas analysts anticipated an increase to 238K.

ONS revises down UK Q1 GDP growth

The ONS released its second Q1 GDP estimate on Thursday, which showed the UK economy expanded at a 0.2% pace in the March quarter, compared to an initially reported pace of 0.3%.
