Gold gains amid Ukraine and U.S. yields

The yellow metal traded above the lowest five-week price in New York as traders weighed the crisis over Ukraine versus the outlook for higher yield in the U.S. The bullion for June contract advanced 0.2% to $1,314.40 an ounce as of 7:50 a.m. on the Comex in New York. It was little changed at $1,305.90 during Tuesday trading session, the lowest price since Feb 14. Futures volume was 6% below the average for the past 100 days. Gold for immediate delivery added 0.2% to $1,314.25.
