The majority of Asia's stocks declined on Monday as investors awaited for an outcome before the U.S. Federal Reserve policy meeting this week on December 17 and 18 that may bring a scale-back of its monetary easing currently totalling $85 billion a month. The MSCI broadest Asia-Pacific gauge outside Japan fell 0.3%, while Shanghai index slipped 1.6% on China's factory data.
