Asian equities surge, as Greece gets reduced borrowing costs

Asian shares gained for the fifth consecutive day as European finance ministers agreed on decreasing Greek borrowing costs and prolonged their payback period. The MSCI Asia Pacific Index (MXAP) surged 0.5% to 123.92, extending the gains since mid-September. Meanwhile, Japanese Nikkei 225 Stock Average rallied 0.6% and South Korea's Kospi Index added 1%, whereas Chinese Shanghai index dropped 1.1% touching its lowest level since January 23 in 2009.
