U.K. shares extend losses on Wednesday

U.K. equities swung between gains and losses on Wednesday to extend its longest streak of declines on speculation Bank of England can adopt stimulus measures started by other banks. The FTSE 100 Index lost 0.2% to 6,425.58 at 16:30 in London. Only two sectors posted gains and 49 out of 101 firms edged higher. Schroders Plc was the top performing company as it surged 1.9% to 2,136 pence, capping losses in financial shares that were 0.3% down. SRSA Insurance Group stock price was 1.7% up, also supporting financials. Furthermore, Rolls-Royce Holdings posted third biggest surge of 1.62% as BMW Group opened an exhibition of Rolls-Royce at its museum premises in Munchen. On the downside, Aviva Plc., an international insurance firm, that erased 3.7% to trigger a drop in financial group. Furthermore, Anglo-American Plc slid 2.3%, adding to a decline in basic materials group that was 0.9% down.
