Most U.S. equities retreated on Tuesday after European Central Bank announced it would provide liquidity to Cyprus within existing regulations and rules. Nicos Anastasiades, the Cypriot President, failed to gather support from Parliament for imposing losses on deposit holders that was the key requirement from European officials. The Dow Jones Industrial Average, however, climbed 0.03% to 14,455.82, as Coca-Cola Co., Procter Gamble Co. and Hewlett-Packard rallied 1.5%, 1.3% and 1.2%, respectively. Commodity, consumer services and financial groups paced losses among the ten sectors included in the index.  Caterpillar Inc. declined 1.2% to $88.27, adding to losses in industrials that were 0.2% down. American Express Co led decline in financials that slid 0.1%, as its shares lost 0.1% to trade at $65.13 by the end of the trading session. Alcoa Inc., aluminium producer, plunged 0.9%.
