Swiss stocks rose on Monday after a report showed U.S. manufacturing sector growth accelerated in March.
The Swiss blue-chip index SMI, a measure of the largest and most actively traded companies, rose 1.02%, or 63.87 points, to 6,299.38. The broader Swiss Performance Index edged higher 1.25%, or 71.35 points, to 5,787.14.
"The ISM index lies comfortably in the expansion zone, so no doubts about the economic recovery in the U.S. should come up," said Ulrich Wortberg, an analyst at Helaba Landesbank Hessen-Thueringen.
