Dow extends its gains on Friday

U.S. blue chips rose on Friday as the employment climbed more than expected and the jobless benefit applications fell surprisingly, showing growth signs in the U.S. labour market. The Dow Jones Index rose 0.5% to 14,397.07. 22 out of 30 companies posted gains in their share prices. Sectors rallying the most were consumer services and telecommunications. Walt Disney Co grew more than others as its price of share added 1.9% on rising hopes that its new film will be successful. McDonald's Corp, the largest chain of fast food restaurants, followed with an increase of 1.7% as its sales fell less than forecast. Home Depot Inc. closed the top three by jumping 1.6% to close at $71.37. Financial sector was the only that declined during market session on Friday. Bank of America Corp lost 1.55% to $12.07, as it estimated a cumulative net trading loss of $19.7 billion for nine months from Q4 2012 through Q4 2013. JPMorgan Chase & Co also dropped 0.9% to $ 50.20, leading losses in the financial sector. Intel Corp plunged 1.4% to cap further increase in technological stocks that were 0.24% up.

Consumer prices in Switzerland increased for the first time since October in February, however, remained in negative territory year-on-year, lending support for the Swiss National Bank's case to maintain its cap on the Swiss Franc.
