ECB may increase bond purchases as inflation weakens further: Draghi

The European Central Bank may increase its bond-purchasing program as soon as the euro-area inflation weakens further, the bank's President Mario Draghi commented on Thursday, as the Eurozone's inflation hit its lowest level since 2009 in March. He also added that the monetary measures would help to improve the monetary accommodation rather than the currency stance.

Yen rises as demand for safety increases

The Japanese currency increased on Friday trading session rising against its U.S. counterpart in a week as demand for safer assets advanced amid rising geopolitical tension in Ukraine. U.S. jobless claims gain more than forecast last week

Initial claim for unemployment benefits in the world's largest economy increase by more than initially expected in the week ended on April 19th, a report published by the Labor Department showed on Thursday. According to the report, the U.S. jobless claims advanced by 24,000 from a level of 305,000 to 329,000 claims last week.
