India's currency jumped on Thursday rising to the strongest level in five weeks together with an increase of local stocks and government bonds after results from exit polls showed that the country's main opposition party may win state elections next year. The Rupee added 0.7% to 61.6200 per U.S. Dollar by 10:29 a.m. Mumbai time after it touched the highest level since October 31 at 61.5350.
