Asia stocks fall, Japan rises

Asia stocks declined, with the regional benchmark index poised to halt the longest rally since 2004, as suppliers to Apple fell. The MSCI Asia Pacific Index lost 0.2% to 127.13 after climbing as much as 0.3%. Japan's Nikkei 225 Stock Average gained 0.9% reaching the highest level since April. Australia's S&P/ASX 200 slipped 0.2% and New Zealand's NZX 50 Index slid 0.3%, Hong Kong's Hang Seng Index declined 0.5%.
