Asian stocks fall on U.S. cliff concern

Most Asian shares fell, with the MSCI Asia Pacific Index dropping from the highest level since August 2011, on concern U.S. lawmakers are deadlocked on a deal to prevent the ‘fiscal cliff' and as the Yen weighed on Japan's stocks. Nikkei 225 Stock Average lost 1.2% and the broader Topix Index declined 0.1%. South Korea's Kospi Index gained 0.3% and Australia's S&P/ASX 200 rose 0.4%.
