U.K. banks were closed on Tuesday in observance of the Spring Bank Holiday.
Stocks fell on Friday. The benchmark FTSE 100 Index declined 1.14 per cent, or 60.67 points, to 5,260.19. The FTSE All-Share Index edged lower 1.24 per cent, or 34.44 points, to 2,732.65.
The Monetary Policy Committee is to announce official bank rate on Thursday. Economists expect the rate to remain on hold at 0.5 per cent.
