The Euro traded sideways against the US Dollar, following the German Flash Manufacturing and Services PMIs survey results release on Thursday at 07:30 GMT. The EUR/USD exchange currency rate lost 3 pips or 0.03% after the release. The Euro continued trading at the 1.7950 level against the Greenback after the release.
Markit released the German Flash Manufacturing PMI survey results, which came out worse-than-expected of 34.4 compared with the forecast of 39.0.
Note that Markit also released the French Flash Manufacturing and Services PMIs survey results at the same day at 07:15 GMT. As the result, the Euro depreciated 12 pips or 0.11% against the US Dollar.
In both countries, businesses reported a collapse in demand due to the coronavirus outbreak.
