The US Dollar appreciated against the Canadian Dollar, following the Canadian GDP release on Friday at 13:30 GMT. The USD/CAD exchange currency rate lost 15 pips or 0.11% after the release. The Greenback continued trading at the 1.3230 level against the Canadian Dollar after the release.
Statistics Canada released the Canadian GDP data, which came out better-than-expected of 0.1% compared with the forecast of 0.0%.
According to the official release: "A major factor in November's increase in GDP was a 2.1% rise in utilities, as a result of unseasonably cold weather in central Canada. This marked the largest growth in utilities in over a year."
