The US Dollar appreciated against the Canadian Dollar, following the Canadian Overnight Rate announcement release on Wednesday at 15:00 GMT. The USD/CAD exchange currency rate gained 44 pips or 0.33% right after the release. The Greenback continued trading at the 1.3135 level against the Canadian Dollar.
The Bank of Canada released the Canadian Overnight Rate data, which came out in line with the expectations of 1.75%.
According to the official release: "The global economy is showing signs of stabilization, and some recent trade developments have been positive. However, there remains a high degree of uncertainty and geopolitical tensions have re-emerged, with tragic consequences. The Canadian economy has been resilient but indicators since the October Monetary Policy Report (MPR) have been mixed."
