Markit released the UK Flash Manufacturing PMI survey results data, which came out worse-than-expected of 47.4 compared with the forecast of 49.1. Also, the IK Flash Services PMI came out worse-than-expected of 49.0.
According to the official release: "Survey respondents overwhelmingly attributed lower business activity to a combination of domestic political uncertainty, a lack of clarity in relation to Brexit and subdued global economic conditions. Manufacturers noted that efforts to trim their stocks of finished goods had acted as an additional brake on production at the end of 2019."
