The US Dollar depreciated against the Canadian Dollar, following the Canadian GDP data release on Friday at 12:30 GMT. The USD/CAD exchange currency rate lost 19 pips or 0.15% right after the release. The Greenback continued trading at the 1.3090 level against the Canadian Dollar.
Statistics Canada released the Canadian GDP data, which came out better-tan-expected of 0.3% compared with forecast of 0.2%.
According to the official release: "Real gross domestic product was up 0.3% in April, following a 0.5% increase in March. Goods-producing industries rose 0.4%, while services producing industries increased 0.2%. The 20 industrial sectors were nearly evenly split between gains and losses. On a three-month rolling average basis, real gross domestic product increased 0.3%, up compared with the three-month rolling average in March (+0.1%)."
