The New Zealand Dollar appreciated against the US Dollar, following the New Zealand GDP data release on Wednesday at 22:45 GMT. The NZD/USD exchange currency rate gained 19 pips or 0.29% right after the release. The Kiwi continued trading at the 0.6560 level against the Greenback.
Statistics New Zealand released the New Zealand GDP data, which came out in line with expectations of 0.6%.
According to the official release: "GDP grew 2.7 percent over the year ended March 2019. Goods-producing industries had the strongest growth this quarter, up 2.0 percent. Growth in the service industries eased to 0.2 percent, after a broad-based growth of 0.9 percent in the December 2018 quarter. Primary industries dropped 0.7 percent."
