The New Zealand Dollar depreciated against the US Dollar, following the New Zealand employment data set release on Tuesday at 22:45 GMT. The NZD/USD exchange currency rate lost 52 pips or 0.78% right after the release. The New Zealand Dollar continued trading at the 0.6650 level against the US Dollar.
Statistics New Zealand released the New Zealand Employment Change data that came out worse-than-expected of negative 0.2% compared with forecast 0.5%. Note, that the New Zealand Unemployment Rate was released at the same time, which came out in line with expectations of 4.2%.
According to the official release: "The seasonally adjusted unemployment rate fell to 4.2 percent in the March 2019 quarter, down from 4.3 percent last quarter."
