The US Dollar appreciated against the Canadian Dollar, following the Canadian GDP data release on Tuesday at 12:30 GMT. The USD/CAD exchange currency rate gained 29 pips or 0.22% right after the release. The Greenback continued trading at the 1.3445 level against the Canadian Dollar.
Statistics Canada released the Canadian GDP data that came out worse-than-expected of negative 0.1% compared with forecast 0.1%.
According to the official release: "Following 0.3% growth in January, gross domestic product contracted 0.1% in February as both goods-producing and services-producing industries declined. The 20 industrial sectors were nearly evenly split between gains and losses."
