US stocks pull back on Tuesday

US shares closed lower on Tuesday as investors paused after sharp gains on Monday and data showed consumer confidence declined more than predicted in March. S&P 500 index dropped 0.3% or 3.99 points to 1,412.52, Dow Jones Industrial Average lost 0.3% or 3.90 points and closed at 13,197.73 while Nasdaq Composite slipped 0.07% or 2.22 points to 3,120.35.

Precious metals tumbled on Tuesday amid stronger US Dollar; platinum resilient

Bernanke: Fed to 'remain cautious'

Ben Bernanke, chairman of Fed, hinted that the central bank of the US is likely to continue its economy-stimulating measures, citing overall weakness of the US job market despite increased hiring in the last three months. He also claimed that Fed has to 'remain cautious', which was interpreted by many analysts as a sign of maintaining record low interest rates
