Following a reversal from the weekly R1, NZD/USD began moving lower and consequently breached a two-week ascending channel.
This bearish momentum was strengthened early today when the Kiwi came under pressure after sluggish release on the New-Zealand business confidence. In the wake of this data, the rate fell 36 pips and subsequently remained near its weekly low for the following hours.
Traders might see a slight recovery later in this session. However, the fact that the Kiwi have not since picked up speed might suggest that bulls are reluctant to push it higher. In any case the 200-hour SMA located at 0.6870 should stop further advances.
On the other hand, it is expected that the weekly S1 provides an unbreakable southern barrier in case a fall occurs.
