GBP/JPY reaches above 162.00

At mid-day on Wednesday, the GBP/JPY currency pair reached above the 162.00 mark and shortly used the round exchange rate level as support.

If the Pound continues to gain value, compared to the Japanese Yen, the currency pair might encounter resistance in round exchange rate levels as the 162.50, 163.00 and 163.50. Meanwhile, note that the 162.75 level acted as resistance on March 28.

However, a decline of the rate would have to pass below the 162.00 mark, before approaching the 161.50 mark and the weekly simple pivot point at 161.48 together with the 50-hour simple moving average.
