WTI trades near 3-week high

West Texas Intermediate oil was traded close to its 3-week high, while it was heading to a monthly drop as inventories in the U.S. jumped to the highest level in more than 22 years. June WTI futures were traded at $94.41 a barrel as of 12:01 p.m. on the NYMEX after it jumped to the strongest level since April 10 at $94.50 yesterday.

Pound appreciates to 10-week high after increase in real estate prices

Japanese retail sales drop in March

Japan's retail sales decreased in March from the year before, when it was falling for the third successive month suggesting that the Asian's second biggest economy is recovering on a slower pace than originally expected, the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry reported on Tuesday. Retail sales dropped 0.3% in March compared to an estimated 0.6% gain.
