Gold Fell on Signs of Economic Growth

Gold dropped in London for the first time in 5 sessions on increasing confidence that the world economy is recovering declined demand for gold as alternative saving. Immediate delivery gold depreciated 0.3% to $1,609.77 an ounce after gaining yesterday 4.2% from $1,555.55, the lowest in 7 months, set on February 21, to $1,620.37, the highest in one week. The contract for April-delivery gold declined 0.4% and was settled at $1,609 in New York.

Pound Dropped Against Euro on Economy Shrank

The Pound depreciated versus the Euro as the U.K. data showed the country's economic growth slowed down in the last quarter of 2012. According to the report, the U.K. economy contracted 0.3% during the last quarter, after growing 0.9% in the previous quarter.
