U.K. shares gain as major companies advance

U.K. shares climbed for the fourth day out of last five after the Bank of England and the European Central Bank left their stimulus measures unchanged and as an index of oil and gas producers increased to the highest level in seven months. The FTSE 100 Index added 0.2% to 6,734.97 as of 12:47 p.m. London time. The FTSE All-Share Index rose 0.2%, while Ireland's ISEQ Index jumped 1.2% today.
