UK GDP rises

In December 2024, the UK's Gross Domestic Product (GDP) increased by 0.4% compared to November, driven by growth in the services sector. This followed a smaller 0.1% rise in November. For the three months leading up to December, the UK's GDP grew by 0.1% from the previous quarter.



In the fourth quarter of 2024, the UK economy grew by 0.1%, avoiding a recession. This increase came despite a contraction in the production sector, particularly manufacturing. The services and construction sectors saw growth, while business investment decreased by 3.2%. The UK's annual GDP growth for 2024 was 0.9%. The Bank of England revised its 2025 growth forecast down to 0.75%.

Consumer Price Index rises
