FedEx stock jumps due to dividend increase

On Tuesday, the stock price of FedEx surged by 14.18% or $28.52. The surge occurred due to the company making an announcement prior to the US market opening.

The parcel delivery firm added two new directors to its board and raised its quarterly dividend by 50.00%. Namely, as the yield of holding the stock surged, its value immediately adjusted. In the meantime, the two new directors were added to decrease pressure on the firm from activist investors, who would want to break up the firm.
