Yesterday, the GBP/USD exchange rate depreciated slightly. During Wednesday morning, the was testing the lower boundary of the short-term ascending channel at 1.2890.
From a theoretical point of view, it is likely that a reversal north could occur in the nearest future. In this case, the currency pair could target the resistance level formed by the weekly R1 at 1.2956.
However, note that the exchange rate is pressured by the Fibo 38.20% and the 100-hour SMA at 1.2918. Thus, a breakout south from the channel could occur. Note that the rate could gain support of the weekly PP and the 200-hour SMA at 1.2871.
