The New Zealand Dollar depreciated about 57 base points against the US Dollar on Wednesday. The currency pair breached a support cluster formed by the weekly and the monthly PPs near the 0.6524 area during the end of yesterday's trading session.
The exchange rate bounced off the lower boundary of an ascending channel at 0.6524 during the Asian session on Thursday, and by the middle of the day, the pair has tested the upper boundary of the channel pattern at 0.6610.
Everything being equal, it is likely that the NZD/USD currency exchange rate makes a brief retracement south towards the 50-hour SMA at 0.6549 within the coming hours.
