Downside momentum has been dominating the AUD/USD currency pair since August 28. This bearish movement began when the Austrian Dollar hit the upper boundary of a descending channel.
By the middle of Friday's session, the exchange rate has reached a support line formed by the weekly pivot point and the lower boundary of the junior descending channel pattern.
If this support level holds, the Aussie could make a brief retracement towards the 50-hour simple moving average within this session. However, technical indicators favour bearish momentum to continue.
