Downside risks continued to dominate the USD/CAD currency pair on Thursday, the exchange rate ended the trading below the weekly pivot point at 1.3075. Furthermore, the pair broke out through the bottom border of an ascending trendline.
By Friday's session, the currency pair had tested the upper boundary of a descending channel and 55-hour simple moving average.
Given that the currency exchange rate has moved closer to the up border of the aforementioned downtrend channel, a breakout could be expected during the following trading session. However, technical indicators suggest otherwise. It's favour bearish momentum to continue today.
