US blue chips were flat on Thursday amid lingering worries over the Eurozone's crisis and inspiring news from the US. US jobless claims dropped more than expected last week while US trade deficit narrowed last month. Dow Jones Industrial Average Index edged down by 0.08% to end the day at 13,165.19. Basic Materials and telecommunications provided strong support for the index. Alcoa and El du Pont de Nemours added 0.68% and 0.48% while Verizon Communications gained 0.36%. The top-losers were financials, with American Express and JPMorgan Chase declining 2.49% and 0.65%. JPMorgan Chase revised down its Q2 results as value of some derivatives was overestimated. Meanwhile, Boeing lost 0.43% as US investigators hided a damage of Boeing Co. 787 Dreamliner that caused an incident near Boeing factory in California.
