U.K. trade deficit widened in February by more than expected, as exports to outside the European Union declined.
Goods trade deficit grew to £8.77 billion in February from an upwardly revised £7.88 billion in January, said the Office for National Statistics on Thursday.
"Concern persists that U.K. exports will be limited in the near term at least by muted global growth," Howard Archer, an economist at IHS Global Insight in London, said.
"Meanwhile, moderate domestic demand is likely to limit U.K. imports over the coming months."
