"Ultimately the question is whether Greece has political will to sort out their economy and fulfill the [austerity] conditions"
- Jutta Urpilainen, Finnish Finance Minister
Greek government officials said bailout talks are in progress and that the country is willing accept more supervision, but rejected rumours that the bailout would be postponed until after April elections.
While "further considerations are necessary regarding the specific mechanisms to strengthen the surveillance of program implementation," Europe is set to make "all the necessary decisions" on February 20, Luxembourg Prime Minister Jean-Claude Juncker said.
Greece has met all conditions required by the International Monetary Fund and European Union to secure a second bailout, said Finance Minister Evangelos Venizelos.
"Ultimately the question is whether Greece has political will to sort out their economy and fulfill the conditions," Finnish Finance Minister Jutta Urpilainen told reporters in Helsinki yesterday.
