UK GDP rises

The UK's real GDP grew by 0.2% in March 2025, following a 0.5% increase in February and no growth in January. Over the three months to March 2025, GDP rose by 0.7% compared to the previous three months (October to December 2024). This growth was mainly due to a strong performance in the services sector, which grew by 0.4% in March and 0.7% over the three-month period. Services were the largest contributor to overall GDP growth.



Production output, although down by 0.7% in March, still rose by 1.1% in the three months to March. Meanwhile, construction output increased by 0.5% in March but showed no overall growth for the three-month period. The figures for January and February remain unrevised, but early estimates like these are often updated in future reports.
