BAE Systems reported strong preliminary results for 2025, reflecting robust financial performance and significant operational progress across its sectors. Revenue increased by 10% to £30.7 billion, driven by 9% organic growth, while underlying EBIT rose 12% to £3.3 billion, improving the return on sales slightly to 10.8%. The company strengthened its balance sheet with net debt falling by 22% to £3.8 billion. Investment remained high, with capital expenditure of approximately £1 billion and self-funded R&D increasing to £407 million to support future innovation.

BAE Systems made significant progress across its key operational sectors in 2025. In the Air sector, it secured a £4.6 billion export deal for 20 Typhoon aircraft with the UK and Türkiye, launched the "Edgewing" joint venture with Italy and Japan for next-generation combat aircraft, continued production of F-35 rear fuselages at around 150 per year, and delivered the final two Typhoons to Qatar. The Maritime sector achieved a £10 billion export milestone with Norway's selection of the Type 26 frigate, marked the keel-laying of HMS Dreadnought, commissioned the Agamemnon submarine, progressed outfitting of HMS Glasgow and HMS Cardiff, advanced the Hunter-class frigate program in Australia, and began mobilization for nuclear-powered submarines. In Platforms & Services, BAE expanded production with a new artillery facility in Sheffield, UK, and a 155mm ammunition factory in Poland with PGZ, delivered the 500th AMPV to the US Army, and successfully tested the Scorpio-XR extended-range projectile.

The company's workforce grew by 4,000 to 111,400 employees, with over 2,500 early-career hires and a record 6,800 apprentices and graduates in training in the UK. Significant infrastructure investments included a $250 million shiplift and repair complex in Jacksonville, Florida, and the establishment of a Shipbuilding Academy in Glasgow.

Looking ahead to 2026, BAE Systems expects sales growth of 7% to 9% and underlying EBIT growth of 9% to 11%, while targeting free cash flow to exceed £1.3 billion for the year, contributing to a three-year cumulative free cash flow target (2026–2028) of over £6.0 billion.
