Novartis Halts CAR-T Trials After Fatalities, Reports MS Drug Success

Novartis has paused eight clinical trials for experimental CAR-T therapies targeting autoimmune and neurological diseases following the deaths of three patients from severe immune reactions. The company is investigating the cases alongside safety boards and regulators. Bristol-Myers Squibb has paused similar studies as a precaution.



In contrast, Novartis announced positive Phase III results for Remibrutinib in treating relapsing multiple sclerosis (MS). The oral drug significantly outperformed Sanofi's Aubagio by reducing relapse rates, brain lesions, and disability progression with no signs of liver toxicity.
