Dow Jones Industry Average Index plummeted 0.79% on Monday to trade at 12,721.46. Persistent worries over the Eurozone's debt crisis and slowing China's economy weighted down on the US blue chips index. All industries within the index fell, with consumer services, technology and oil and gas companies leading the decline. Shares of McDonald's plunged 2.88% after the word largest hamburger chain reported lower than expected profits and revenues in Q2. Oil and gas companies followed sharp decline in oil price. Exxon Mobil and Chevron tumbled 0.86% and 1.14%. Among technology companies, Microsoft and Hewlett-Packard were the top-losers, falling by 2.63% and 1.61%. At the same time, largest Wall Street banks managed to move higher, with Bank of America and JPMorgan Chase climbing 0.28% and 1.59%.
