EUR/USD Technical analysis

EUR/USD has recently seen a notable corrective move after topping near the 1.2050 region. Following this decline, price action has entered a consolidation phase and is currently testing an important support zone, making this area critical for the next directional move.

From a moving average perspective, short-term momentum remains bearish. The price is trading below the 24-period simple moving average, which has begun to slope downward and is acting as dynamic resistance. This suggests sellers still have near-term control. At the same time, price is approaching the 100-period SMA from above. This level has historically acted as a key trend filter, and a successful hold here would preserve the broader bullish structure. A clean break below it, however, would weaken the medium-term outlook significantly.



In terms of horizontal levels, immediate resistance is found around 1.1811, followed by the psychologically important 1.1900 area. On the downside, price is hovering right around the 1.1800 psychological support. If this level fails, the next meaningful support comes in near 1.1780. Below that, the market opens the door toward a much deeper support zone around 1.1590.

Momentum, as measured by the 24-period RSI, is currently around 45.76. This places the indicator in neutral territory, slightly below the 50 midline, which aligns with the mild bearish bias seen in price action. Importantly, the RSI still has room to move lower before reaching oversold conditions, suggesting downside continuation remains technically possible.
