GBP/JPY finds support in pivot point

On Monday morning, the GBP/JPY currency exchange rate found support in the weekly S1 simple pivot point at 160.64. By the middle of the day's European trading, the pair had recovered and broken the resistance of the combination of the 50, 100 and 200-hour simple moving averages and the weekly simple pivot point at 161.50/161.65.

A continuation of the surge of the currency exchange rate might encounter resistance in the weekly R1 simple pivot point at 162.38, prior to reaching the Friday's high level at 162.50. Higher above, take into account the 163.00 level and the weekly R2 simple pivot point at 163.40.

In the case of a potential decline of the Australian Dollar against the Japanese Yen could look for support in the technical levels near 161.50/161.65. Further below, the 161.00 level might turn into support, before the rate reaches the weekly S1 at 160.64 and the 160.50 level.
