AUD/USD consolidates below 0.7300

Since reaching below the 0.7300 mark, the AUD/USD currency exchange rate has consolidated by finding support at 0.7280 and retracing back up to the 0.7300 level. In the meantime, the 50-hour simple moving average had caught up with the rate from above.

In the case that the 50-hour SMA provides resistance and pushes the rate down, the pair could reach for the weekly S2 simple pivot point at 0.7255. Meanwhile, note that the lower trend line of the November channel down pattern could provide support in the case of a sharp decline.

However, a move above the 50-hour SMA would most likely result in the rate aiming at the weekly S1 simple pivot point at 0.7326. Above the pivot point, the upper trend line of the channel pattern might provide resistance.
