UK Retail Sales Rise in May 2026 Driven by Online and Non-Food Growth

According to the Office for National Statistics, UK retail sales increased in May 2026, with volumes rising 1.2% over the month and 0.4% across the three months to May compared with the previous three months. Growth was driven mainly by non-food stores,especially department stores and strong performance in non-store retailing, supported by promotions and unusually warm weather.
